Can I choose my class of ward?

Choice of ward accommodation is limited to the allocated wards at different levels of subsidy (See Types of Wards page). Patients who do not want to be means tested will have 0% subsidy and a free choice of ward accommodation. However, patients are advised to choose an appropriate class which they can afford to pay. Non-residents, industrial accident cases and those admitted for non-basic health services (e.g. cosmetic surgery) can only choose Single or 4-bed type of room. Also, private patients of visiting consultants can only be admitted to Single or 4-bed type of room in the wards.

Admission for respite is restricted to the paying class. It will not be allowed for admission to 5-8 bed room type.

How much will my hospital stay cost?

The average estimated hospital bill size can be viewed at our Ward Charges page. Your actual bill may differ from the estimate depending on your medical condition and treatment.

What rates will I pay for follow-up at Specialist Outpatient Clinics (SOCs) of restructured hospitals after discharge from AMK-THKH?

For follow-up treatment at SOCs of restructured hospitals, patients in Single and 4-bed type will be charged at private rates and 5-8 bedded patients at subsidised rates.
