Is a deposit required for admission to AMK-THKH?

A deposit is normally collected at the time of your admission to cover your estimated hospital bill. The amount varies, depending on the type of cases and the class of ward chosen. You can ask the staff-in-charge of your admission for the quantum. The deposit may be settled by cash, cheque, credit card or NETS.

How much deposit is required in the various class of wards?

Generally, patients admitted to 5-8 bedded wards with sufficient Medisave may need to place a nominal deposit of $100 to meet miscellaneous charges not covered by Medisave. If Medisave does not cover the full hospital charges, further deposit may be needed.

For respite care, Medisave deduction is not allowed and a deposit equivalent to two weeks' stay is required to be settled.

For those who opt for Single or 4-bedded wards, a cash deposit is required because Medisave cannot cover the full bill.

What happens if I do not have the money to pay the deposit?

Patients seeking admission to 5-8 bedded wards and who are unable to pay the deposits or hospital charges can see our Medical Social Worker for assistance from Medifund. Patients seeking admission to Single or 4-bedded wards and who are unable to pay the deposit should reconsider their choice of ward.
