Means Testing (what it means for you)

What is Means Testing?

Means-testing is used to calculate the level of subsidies a patient receives when he / she needs step down care. Means-Testing allows us to assess the socio-economic situation of each patient to ensure that needy patients receive higher subsidies.

At Ang Mo Kio – Thye Hua Kwan Hospital, about 96% of our patients received subsidies as a result of Means Testing from January to December 2011.

All patients are given the option to opt in or out of the Means Testing Procedure upon admission. Patients who opted out initially, can still choose to opt in during their stay.
